This year we have made further changes to Widola, to make it easier to
update your data.
The software works in French, German and English, on PC or Mac. Possible
browsers are Mozilla and Internet Explorer. However, to avoid small bugs, w
e recommend
this combination:
• ENGLISH
• INTERNET EXPLORER
• PC
The instructions below assume you are using this combination.
(To use Mozilla and the Explorer interface on the PC, use the IE tab in
the Tools. It's free on the internet. It also works in German and French.)
To search and edit from the
Widola homepage
1 Go to www.widola.com, choose ‘search' Wait for the intro
page to run, or click 'skip intro'.
2 Enter your company name or, if you do not exactly know how
the company is listed in the database, type part of the name and with * before
and after (* is a ‘wild key’ for any other character). Example: type: *dudek*
for Dudek Paragliding.
3 Press ‘search’. If your company name was complete, you will
see your address and all the aircraft, engines, schools and importers
associated with your company. (If it was incomplete, you will see a list of
possible companies: click the one you want.) To change company contact details,
click the link at the bottom of the window.
The Log-In window will appear.
4 To learn more about an aircraft, engine or school, click
the name in blue. This takes you to a new window. To change details of the
aircraft, engine or school, click the link at the bottom of the window. The
Log-In window will appear.
5 Log in. (If you have forgotten your log in or password,
please re-register or Email us. Fields marked * must be
completed. Maximum length for log in and password is
6 Now you see the data in editable form. Click on the blue
links as appropriate, to change each item in turn.
To search and edit from an email
link
Every year we email manufacturers and schools, asking them to check and
update their information. The email contains a link which shortcuts the
procedures above.
1 The link will take you directly to your company
information, as currently stored on www.widola.com
2 To change the information, use the links at the bottom of
the window.
Either: (a) click the bottom link to email us details of the changes.
Or (b) click the upper link to make the changes yourself. This takes you
to step 6, as above.
When adding or editing, please
note…
Changes do not appear on site immediately. The old data will continue to
be shown until our editors have checked your request. You will receive an email
when this has happened. To see a list of outstanding requests, choose
‘Request’, followed by ‘Aircraft’, Companies’,‘Importers’, or ‘Schools’ as
appropriate.

When changing prices, remember to choose the appropriate currency
(euros, dollars or pounds) and quote your price without tax. This is
important: WDFF and WDLA are international publications and taxes vary from
country to country.
If you want the same price in all three editions, just enter the
English-edition price. (If the others are left blank, the English price will be
printed by default in all three language editions.)

The presentation of text depends on the type of aircraft. Some
categories of aircraft (eg paragliders) have one description per manufacturer,
not per aircraft. With these categories, just change the text for the first
aircraft in the list; the others will be changed automatically later.
Other categories of aircraft have a different description for each
aircraft.
All descriptions have a minimum length is
photos
Photos should be RGB JPEG format,
Paragliders: Up to six vertical photos
per manufacturer, of different models, size
Hang gliders: Up to six horizontal
photos per manufacturer, of different models, size
Paramotors: Up to six horizontal
photos per manufacturer, of different models, size
All other aircraft: One photo per aircraft,
size
